Alcorn Construction is looking for experienced Superintendents to add to their growing team. Alcorn Construction is an award-winning general contractor specializing in relationship-based commercial and light industrial (ground-up and tenant finish) projects.  Alcorn Construction is expanding its team and operations with the addition of a new office in Tempe, Arizona!

 

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overall on-site project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, and will be responsible for providing onsite technical direction and ensuring compliance with safety, stormwater and quality standards.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the construction project from start to finish.
  • Perform a key role in project planning and identification of resources needed.
  • Ensure that construction activities are accomplished to meet schedule.
  • Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises.
  • Communicate effectively with the trade partners that are responsible for completing various phases of the project.
  • Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the architects, consultants, trade partners, and vendors.
  • Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular meetings with all Trade Partners.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, stormwater and safety standards.
  • Continuous inspection of construction sites.
  • Ensure project documents are complete and accurate.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean jobsite at all times.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial construction
  • Solid understanding of commercial construction life cycle required
  • Ground-up and/or Tilt-up (precast concrete walls/panels) experience required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong focus on safety and quality assurance methodologies
  • Capacity to handle pressure with integrity and grace
  • Thorough knowledge of safety standards is essential.
  • Firm understanding of Microsoft Project (or similar program) and ability to create and update schedules on a regular basis with a high degree of quality and efficiency
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities with the highest degree of professionalism

Compensation:

 

Alcorn Construction offers a comprehensive compensation package including competitive salary, bonus potential, 401k, profit sharing, health benefits, PTO, paid Holidays and MORE.  The salary for this role is between $110k-130k based on experience.  This position does offer a 10% bonus potential.
