POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Sales,  as part of the Executive Leadership team reporting directly to the President, is responsible for managing sales activities, building and maintaining a high performing sales team, and growing and developing executive relationships in order to build awareness and potential opportunities.  This professional will manage, influence and coach a team of 3-6 professional sales reps and work with an extensive reseller channels to meet and exceed company goals for revenue growth and market share expansion across the United States.  They will also possess the ability to operate both as a member of an executive leadership team helping to steer the strategic direction for the company, while also being a full-cycle sales person from lead to closure of a sale. 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales objectives and monthly revenue quotas individually as well as a team by initiating and completing the sales process including, qualifying opportunities, scheduling appointments, making presentations, understanding business needs, developing solutions and proposals, forecasting, and overcoming objections to close the sale
  • Coach, mentor and develop a sales team to meet/exceed revenue growth goals and holding the team accountable to these goals
  • Engaging targeting prospects, using business acumen and consultative skills to identify broken business processes and position DI’s custom training classes to solve clients’ technology training needs
  • Develop strong, ongoing relationships by demonstrating DI’s value and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with marketing department and help define sales strategies and processes
  • Analyze current sales methodologies and based on findings, change or institute new methodologies and sales processes
  • Utilizing value-based selling methodology to manage sales processes
  • Responsible for hunting for new business through research and client access
  • Arrange meetings and deliver customized presentations to C Level Executives

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing a small outside sales team, selling in the learning/development space, or selling a complex/customizable service with a long sales cycle
  • Proven pattern of success selling to Fortune 100 companies
  • Experience developing proves sales strategies
  • Intermediate to power user of SalesForce
  • Successful record of managing a sales funnel with deals valuing $100 - $500k
  • Strong understanding of information technology and multiple platforms, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Exceptional skills in the following: coaching/developing a sales staff, communication, presentation skills, negotiation, closing, organizational, and teamwork.
  • Clear sense of integrity, work ethic and a sincere interest in building strong relationships based upon competency and trust
