POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Estimator/Design Engineer will be a highly motivated team focused professional. This individual will be responsible for creating the bill of materials, scope of work, system design, and complex estimates in collaboration with the operations and sales teams.  Extensive industry knowledge of products, their functionality, and the best practices for their installation is required. The Estimator/Design Engineer must establish and maintain effective working relationships with external clients and the internal company leadership teams through a high degree of professionalism and excellent interpersonal/ communication skills.

 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES 

 

  • Reviewing plans, RFP and project specification documents
  • Estimating all job expenses, freight and other potential costs through a complete understanding of the project
  • Assisting sales in customer requirements gathering and client communication
  • Creating bill of materials
  • Building systems with consultant driven designs as well as developing novel designs based on client requirements
  • Creating a scope of work with technical description
  • Creating drawings to support the sales and proposal process
  • Performing site walk-throughs and technical review meetings
  • Interface with consultants, vendors, general contractors, electrical contractors and other partners
  • Supporting the Operations Team for change orders
  • Transitioning projects to Project Manager and Installation Team to ensure a successful installation. 
  • Demonstrating creative solutions to help differentiate Linx Multimedia

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years of engineering experience in professional audio/video integration preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills required.
  • CTS Required, CTS-D preferred
  • 4 year degree preferred.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD preferred.

This position offers a competitive salary with quarterly incentive plan, in addition to a robust benefits package.
