POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Blue Heron is seeking to add an Area Manager to their growing team. The Area Manager will be responsible for multiple custom home construction projects throughout the Las Vegas area; and will oversee all construction project management duties including overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and control, cost management, time management, contract administration, and safety management while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple custom home construction projects from start to finish simultaneously
  • Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identifying resources needed
  • Manage project budget, track team expenses and minimize exposure and risk of the budget
  • Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule
  • Devise the project work plans and make revisions when needed
  • Provide exceptional service and communication to the client on the project plan.
  • Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, including Architects, Consultants, Contractors, Sub-contractors and Laborers
  • Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the Trade Partners
  • Ensure project documents are complete and accurate at all times
  • Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims

 

Requirements for Hire:

  • Progressive experience in management of construction projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management preferred
  • Good understanding of MEP building systems
  • Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is essential
  • Ability to plan and organize a team effort
  • Excellent client management and goodwill building ability
  • Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams
  • Effective time management and logical decision-making ability
  • Capacity to handle pressure
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the construction sites
  • Strong focus on quality
